I also questioned the fact that he wants to race a mustang, but then I figured he must not get much car action on the islands. I mean, there's maybe a few hundred miles worth of highway out there. I was in kauai recently, and its pretty much just one decent road.. Do they even have a drag strip?

12.4 at 116 for the gt500 vs 12.7 at 112 for the NA stang..whats really more impressive..'

I frequent LS1 tech and belieave it or not the new 5.0's are a pretty big deal over their...not so much the Gt500's..

raceing a 5.0 would be an honer. i have yet to see a 2011 5.0 and would love some friendly fun...

You guys say..why not fond a bugatti or this and that...

i have never been driveing my viper/nsx or other cars and came across cars of this caliber..i would give a testicle to run one for sure...

So I thought long and hard of a car i would love to race and the 5.0 has been kicking ass in the recent magazine comparisons as well as killing some impressive cars in the LS1tech street raceing section..

Figuered theirs got to be a few owners here in hawaii who would like to go run...Again would love to race a FGt ect. But it just never happens..

most exotic cars Ive ever ran are other vipers Z06's and nsx's.....So Ive given up on that...

Still would love some friendly runs..dig runs are fine..sticky tires are fine as well although i will be on stockers...

yes i will be video tapeing as running anew 5.0 is worth bragging about and keeping as a memory win or lose...i really like those new 5.0's

i would prefer the new 5.0...But will run a Gt500 no problem...pulley changed ect. makes no differance to me

i think the viper guy has a pretty good attitude. he just wants to run a mustang. i think "living the dream" might be a bit of a stretch for letting someone run with a viper but its cool that he acknowledges that all the new mustangs are seriously good cars that shouldn't be underestimated.

i have a lot of experience with vipers and their owners. usually they think that their car is some kind of american ferrari. they're cool cars but really not worth what some people pay for them (mostly due to build quality and chassis design). the great majority of viper owners are your basic "VIPPERS ARE THE BEST EVARRRRRRRRRRRR" even though they have all the build quality of a really nice kit car.

Maybe the first Generation S197's, but the 2010 GT500 has run 11.90's @ 120+ with good air at sea level on the stock Goodyears. They've gone near mid-11's with nothing more than Drag Radials. The 2011 is faster still with another 10hp and over 120lbs dropped from the nose. The last couple year GT500's are 10-second cars with your typical Intake/Exhaust/Pulley/Tune and more than a match for any stock Viper/SRT-10.

Cedar Falls, IA about two months ago, a fella, engineer at John Deere, put his Viper into the Calif Guard Rail on a 4 lane, in town, and both car and driver went to the morgue......lucky no one else involved........they are fast alright ! Best regards Plum

KILLEMALL, how can there be "no honor" in racing a GT500 that has more comparable power and performance yet there is "honor" in racing a car that is clearly outmatched by yours? Where is the logic in that one?

Please, Please, Please Let me know when this race is going down. I want to watch. I promise to bring all my friends (and co-workers) with me to watch this real cool and highly illegal race. I'll bring flashing lights and loud noise making devices with me too. In case you haven't heard... road racing is illegal and can endanger others so I would suggest waiting for the track to reopen. In the event you just can't wait... Well we also have a new law in place that allows law enforcement the option to seize vehicles involved in road racing that have exceeded the speed limit by 25mph. I think I would look real cool driving your previously owned viper as my un-marked vehicle now owned by the people of Hawaii. Of course maybe you can get away from my subsidized unmarked vehicle, but I doubt your faster then Air1.

I saw on the new Hawaii Five O that Dano is driving a 5.0 GT - why does'nt the viper owner ask him.
Dano has a 5.0 and he is local ??

Road racing is legal and done on a track. Think you mean street racing.

Sorry brother.. I've been to far too many accident scenes where people are recovered in pieces. If you want to race go to the track. Keep it off the streets and away from the possiblity of killing some innocent motorist, pedestrian or even yourself. Imagine getting the call that someone you care about was just killed in an accident by a "road" / "street" racer (call it what ever you want).
