Any body want a Free '66 200 6 cylinder engine that runs great

Over the Christmas holiday I'll be pulling the engine out of my '66 Mustang. Lifters clatter when cold, other than that it runs great, no smoke. Put a "Pony Carbs" carburetor on a year ago. Odo shows 28K miles, and I believe that to be 128K miles accurate with the overall condition of the car. This will be complete, with waterpump, alternator, belts, hoses (tune up is about 3K miles old). I've also got the aftermarket A/C brackets as well as the original Alternator brackets (included for the grand total of zero dollars and zero cents :D ). It's a manual transmission car. You can have the clutch, although I wouldn't recommend running it, as it's probably only got about 20K miles left, at best. The head gasket has been changed at one point, doesn't look like the head was milled.

Needs to be picked up by (probably) 4 strong bodies and taken to a good home. I live in Tracy, CA. About an hour south of Sacramento.

By January First if no one wants it, I'm taking it to the scrap metal place, and that would be a shame.
Don't want any money, just someone to put it to good use.
"PM" me if you have questions. Or would like to take it home with you.

Scott

i'd be interested. i live west of sacramento.

Similar situation here: I have a perfectly good 200 rear end for a 67 that I'm going to haul to the dumpster because nobody local (western N.C.) wants it. Even the brakes and drums are in great shape.

I won't be able to pull it out this weekend. I'm way behind on my Christmas shopping, and will be shunned by family and friends, if I don't get it done.

I'd hate to see it become man hole covers or sewer pipe :nonono:

I was just saying that to express my potential enthusiasm. ;) I'd probably just turbocharge it and blow it up anyway, so I guess it might as well be a sewer lid.
