any easy way to change trans lines with motor still in car???

I need to change the trans lines on my 91 5.0 automatic notch. i got the old lines off and that was a struggle to get it out. trying to put the new ones in is even harder to menouver under the motor and over the crossmember. is is even possible to change the trans lines with the motor still in the car?

Seems like it would be a real PITA. Have you considered just replacing it with rubber trans cooler line instead?

would that work/be safe to run rubber hose all the way down? i know they do not have very much pressure

I just took mine out about a month ago when I did a 5sp swap on my 93 lx. They came out the front. Just a little twisting, pulling and pushing and they will make it just fine.

I dont know why it wouldnt be. They sell transmission specific rubber line. I would imagine if it were tucked away and zip tied it would be ok, maybe someone with more trans experience than I will chime in though.

good point, if i can't get the metal ones in today, i'll just buy some rubber trans line then

yea it was a pain in the arse so i bought some rubber trans line. seems like its working ok. thanks for the help guys
