any experience with the edelbrock rpm 2??

my setup is in the sig. i have been told that if i change my real gt40 intake and put on the delbrock rpm 2 i would gain 20 hp to the rear tires with no loss of torque. currently i have 298 hp and 325 tq at the rear wheels. 20 hp sounds way to good to be true to me.

also....would i be better off to just get my gt40 ported instead?

I almost don't want to show you this because I want one myself but have you seen Eddie's new RPM II black powdercoat? Its so I almost can't handle it.

As far as the GT-40 goes, the upper can't be ported much because its tubular, not cast, but the lower can be ported a decent amount.

I'm sure you'll hear something from/about TMOSS porting, hes really the authority on porting in my experience.

Probably a couple horses there, but i doubt 20rwhp.
Get a bigger better mass air meter (not a C&L) and you'll probably pick up a good 5-10rwhp right there.
The gt40 is a good street car intake, i'd just leave it.

umm, that's not really a good idea.
It's a high hp, high rpm intake, designed for strokers, sc's or turbo setups.

I can give you my first hand experience... I just sold my unused RPM II. From all the research I could find, it was way too big (air volume) for my application and use. The intake screams above 4K, but sucks down low. My friend has it on his '93 with a Novi SC; and he loves it.

I have a fairly "mild" combo. 70mm TB, 73 MAF, 165 heads, 270 cam, stock bottom end.

I ended up going with a ported Explorer intake for the low end torque and HP. Had I gone with my original plan for the intake, by adding a super charger, I would have been golden.

Port the gt-40 lower. The rpmII is not really a street friendly 302 intake. Its more for strokers and FI.

Tmoss can do an excellent job porting your current gt-40 lower. Probably pick up about 20fwhp from his work...

You can purchase a core from him...he can do the porting and ship it to you. This means you have little down time...then you just have to ship him your lower after you do the swap! good luck man.

20fwhp of an estimate is as good as saying 17rwp, that's a little generous of an estimate for porting a lower intake on a mild setup.

I say keep what you have, I am debating on getting the rpm2 for my current engine build but it is a 331 with rhs 180 heads. I say current but it won't be finished until sometime in feburary of 09 due to cost, but I can wait.

I went from a 12.91 @105 to a 12.67 @107 with the only change being porting my GT-40 lower intake.

I have an Edelbrock RPM Performer II intake on my stroker motor cause I think the ported cobra intake would choke it on the top end.

any experience with the edelbrock rpm 2??

what do do about intake situation
