yes it was after the brand new carb this is most definatly a timing, switch or electrical issue i am just not familiar with the emissions system on this car so i was wondering if anyone knows if there are any parts you can not take off that may make motor stumble at lower rpms.

as far as i know any of the emisions can come off and NOT effect the way the car drives. To me it sounds like you need to adjust the carb. My buddies carbed 83 was doing this and a carb adjustment solved the problem.I'm not a carb guy so dont take my word on it,and this is the best i can help with it. peace
