I'm on tranny #4 in the first 400-500 miles. They have been standing behind their product, but I can't seem to keep this thing cool! Just a 20-25 mile cruise down a flat highway today in OD punched the tranny temp over 220! By the time I got to the office it had made it's way up to 250! The fan on the transcooler works fine, the fluid levels are fine....

Anyone else experiencing these issues? I'm trying to keep the car as street friendly as possible (thus the AOD), but I'm getting ready to give up on their trannies altogether.

It's a 10 second car? 10" or smaller converter...what do you want from the poor thing? Reverse pattern valvebody? Street driving is probably too much for it. I used to run a Mike's ultimate AOD and it barely handled my 11 second capable pile of crap. If you are going 10.01 (your sig) you should switch to a c4. Does your motor have something that could cause that much heat soak? Maybe a big blower?

Art Carr is good ****. Run there valve body in a TH350 (IMCA). If you are running hot cap off the lines from the radiator and run an aftermarket cooler. Like $30 bux a NAPA. Much cheaper than a trans. Plus if the stock cooler is plugged........... Plus did you use Trans Flush or Kool Kleen on every R&R??????

not nearly enough info.

describe your cooling setup.

it is not hard at all to keep an aod cool, with a big cooler. if it is mounted flat, and has a fan on it (the cooler) then of course it will not work well.
