I have 160,000 miles on my 2.3, and was curious how to get some of my gas mileage back. I get about 17MPG right now, and I assume it is just because of age/wear. I have done the tune up, with champion plugs, and autolite wires (they do just the same as the ford ones I had). I have also replaced the air filter, taken the silencer off, and removed the air muffler and replaced it with 3" pvc pipe. Ever since I have had the car I have changed the oil about every 2,500 miles, and it stays clean on the dipstick the whole time. It is an auto, and I serviced my tranny about a year ago, new filter and all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS.
