I just got my SCT Livewire from fed ex today and following the instructions that were stuck right on the unit, I hooked it up to my laptop and downloaded the latest firmware. The unit would not work, it just said checking memory ect and didnt light up. So I searched around the SCT threads and tried google, and came up with an older firmware. I installed that and now the unit lights up but I cant read the screen at all. The wheel makes clicking noises but thats about it.

Hopefully someone has some experience or advice about this

been there done that, call or email tech support w/ ur situation, most likely they will walk you through flashing the livewire and reinstalling the software. I'm not particularly happy with mine...

Yeah I haven't been able to get any response from the phone line, email and live support chat all day and I spent 4 hours lastnight searching every thread on the livewire board

Finally got threw on the phone. The guy was nice, and tried to help but after trying 3 types of firmware and 2 more update softwares it still wouldn't work. They gave me a RMU and now I have to send it in So much for playing with my new toy this weekend

Surprisingly enough I got the thing to work! They told me sometimes the memory card comes loose and I should try hitting the side of it to knock the card back into place and it actually worked. Now that it's updated and loaded into my ecu I am impressed. Not so much with the power gains but the smoothness of power and low end tq.

Hitting the side of it...? That doesn't sound good. Couldn't you just push it in? That's like banging on your TV to get it to work.

Yeah it reminded me of slapping the old sega and super nintendo games

But I didnt want to take it apart and void the warranty, and it managed to actually work. I'm still going to send it in for a permanent fix.
