Any way to make magnaflow tips sit flush?

I just installed my new magnaflow catback and love the sound but I am having trouble getting the tips to sit where I want them to. If I put them flush with the rear fascia then they won't clamp on tightly to the tailpipe. You can tighten the boly all of the way and they are still loose. In order for them to sit tight I have to pull them out an 1 and a half which lets me clamp on to the pipe better. I hate having the, stick out that far though. I know a lot of people have trouble with the allen screw but that seems to stay tight for me. Thanks for the help.

You could wrap the end of the tubing in high temp tape making it effectively wider, so the tip wouldn't have as much room to wiggle.

Yeah, or any autoparts store for that matter. The catback usually doesn't get that hot anyway, probably regular heavy duty (non-flammable...) tape would do...but just to be on the safe side...
