I usually cruise over to EECTuning.org once each day just to see what others
are doing and if anything is new other than the same old noobie Q's.
I've noticed a good few fox and later folks have not only moved to Clint's Binary Editor to work with their pcm but they are starting to use his NEW tool to datalog as well.
This means ... as I understand it ... they no longer use CalEdit or CalCon.
I really don't understand all that programming stuff about writing software or using programming to pick apart and find various parts of the bin file like some of those guys that hang there ... but .......................
It seems to me ... they have lost all hope for a bug free version of CalEdit or CalCon which I totally understand because for the longest time ... I've been perfectly happy with 1.20 CalEdit but I cant say the same about 1.20 CalCon.
You can't datalog ect and act simultaneously with 1.20

With the other two later versions of CalCon ... you gotta filter out errors before you can work with the data.
This is in NO WAY acceptable to me cause a lot of the time ... I don't use ANYTHING other than Excell to look at my data.
And at other times I like to use Log Analyst to view the data.
The raw data should be delivered without errors ... Period :Word:
I've seen no benefit in the two offerings that have since come along for my needs and applications so I've stayed put with 1.20
I am considering using Clint's software for my Tuning and Datalogging but waiting a bit longer to see just how stable it all is for our 94-95 pcm's
I have confidence in Clint supporting his product based upon my working with him in the past.
I can not say the same for the Tweecer software
As I understand it ... you can use Binary Editor at no charge but the datalogging software has a charge associated with it that is gonna be somewhere in the range of 50 to 75 bux
I may be speaking out of turn here ... but I thought I saw where Wes had loaded up Clints stuff and gave a good report about it
I'm watching all this closely and just might move away from CalEdit/CalCon later this summer
Bin Editor is terrific. I was hesitant to move off of CalEdit and CalCom but it was an easy transition. The really nice thing is you can import/export out of EA and the BE application and logger have some really cool functions. Well worth the $55.

$55 just seems a little steep to me, I think ill deal with the bugs of this software until I cant stand it anyore. But all in all, I havent had too much trouble with caledit and calcon, a few things here and there but its tolerable for now.
I just want to know...with all the searching I did on the forums how I never saw/noticed the topic of the update only until just a few months ago .
I think even if you plan on keeping the tweecer software its a good idea to atleat buy the EA program...if anything for the DL filter and helf files.
A local board member/board owner who knows his way around the eec (he is on here but maybe with like 15 posts). Has become a tweecer dealer/vendor and said he talked to Mike. He said Mike told him he was really working on a far better setup with the tweecer...like not only real time logging but real time tuning as well as a better platform to tune.
In the end though, Mike can say anything but from his track record I am not holding my breath. I will not be updating my version of tweecer (1.3a9 IIRC) as I am confident I understand the bugs it has. I may go with Clints BE but only if I run into something just retarded. I think with my combo and goals though the tweecer software will be 100% fine.
I still feel that for the price and amount of power at your hands with the tweecer its a damn good deal...just wish the software would be final.
