my dyno guy has a fuel injection set up on his 351C PANTERA. he owns EJ'S DYNO SHOP in Omaha, NE. do a search for it. ill also look for the # for you. then you can call an actual owner, and see what they think about it.....

It's a neat kit....

NOT what I would use.

This kit is fine if you want to drop a crapload of cash, and have a completely done system.

I guess it depends on the type of person you are. Great if you have the money and are happy with no control and not the absolute best results (but still superior to carb). If you look at the kit.. it's really just the factory ford fuel injection.. they've just modified a manifold for you, and included a 4bbl style throttle body.

I do not agree with them about "any mechanic can figure it out" or their claims of support. They still use parts/equipment that you cannot get at your local parts store.

Personally, I'm going to use MegaSquirt to do my FI conversion. http://www.megasquirt.info/ Alot more work is involved. But I'll be doing it for a fraction of the cost.. approx 1/3rd the cost and I'm going "expensive" compared to alot of people. In the end, it'll look nearly the same.. except it'll be completely programmable. Every engine is different.. and can benifit from an exact tune. Some may want to tune for power...others for fuel economy. With the megasquirt you can do it all. As far as parts go.. the Megasquirt is even better...since it's completely programmable, you just program it to work with the part you have. Ford TPS, GM temp sensors, VW injectors... it doesn't matter. Plus.. if you want to upgrade you won't have to send your ECU back to them to reprogram.

You see them flogging Mass air as being the superior fuel injection system. Not true.. it's the only way they'd be able to do it with a "1 setup fits all" solution..and that's why they claim it's best. But in reality, Speed Density is the superior system...more power, better economy. BUT, it's true... you need to reprogram if you modify the engine. Thus the programmable ECU.

I dunno.. I really look forward to hooking up my laptop and squeezing every last drop of performance out of my engine. I look forward to datalogging at the track and seeing where the mixture went a little lean (or rich) and tuning the ECU to make it work.

There is so many advantages to a Megasquirt style ECU, I couldn't list them all. Things like hooking up the laptop and being able to see what every sensor is telling you in real time. No more guessing which sensor is bad... hook up the laptop and check each one for yourself.

Again, it really depends on what type of person you are.
