Anybody have a windshield changed yet?

My girlfriends 07GT is only 2 weeks old, and she already has a cracked windshield from a rock on the freeway.

How much was the replacement (ford factory glass)? And did the new windshield have the pony at the top? My girlfriend was adimate about the windshield being the same....

I recently had a rock chip cause a nice crack across my windshield. I got a few quotes for the replacement, including the pony and all that stuff and estimates were about 350 to 400 bucks. Only about 200 -250 if you just get the glass with no pony but hey it's a mustang, might as well do it right eh?

Call your insurance company. Most have a windshield stipulation. If they can repair it, they will do so for free. If it needs to be replaced, they have a small deductible, usually $50 or so. They will send someone out to your home or work to fix it. It does not count as a claim on your insurance either. Call your insuarnce company and ask. I have had a few replaced over the past few years. Good luck

Make sure you ask for the Ford replacement glass. It is made by Carlite. Anything else is cheap foreign junk.
