my car is running great. I have stock mufflers w/ dumps tho. (cut off tail pipes and some down shaped one put on). I noticed when you give it a fair amount of gas in 2nd, sometimes 3rd and usually 4th you can feel a knocking feeling under the car against the floor board. Not real bad but you can feel it. Could it be the exhaust or is it the driveshaft or trans? I have no idea about what this could be.

get it on a hoist or crawl under and wiggle things around...check for a broken exhaust hanger. My "guess" would be exhaust since it is close to the floor pan.
Drive shaft would have to move too much IMO.

I very seriously doubt it's your driveshaft or tranny...if your driveshaft was banging into the bottom of your car...you'd be having a bad day. Probably your exhaust, I'm willing to bet if you get under your car you can probably see where it's hitting if you just follow the exhaust from front to back

I can about guarentee its the mufflers hitting the floor board. Mine does this when I hit bumps in the road. does it sound like it is under the back seat?

just check stuff out. on mine, the following clearances are really tight on the pass side: muffler to DS - little score marks on the DS. the rear of the pass muffler wants to hit the frame rail as well. i centered as best i can (you can loosen the pipe before the mufflers and tweak the pipes a little).

good luck.

If it's under the floor board I'd guess that it were the cats banging on the bottom of the car. Check to see how close they are to the body when it's cold. Then decide for yourself if heat and a little twisting motion from the engine would be enough to cause it to tap your floor pan. If you can apply pressure to the cats and get them to just touch the floor pan when cold, I'd say that you'd found your cuplrit. I had something similar happen to me and it drove me nuts for a little while. In my case, it was the heat shield on the left side. It had separated and the bottom half of the shield was completely gone already. The top just didn't have enough sense to fall off into the road.

thanks for the reply, only thing is that i dont have any cats. I have an hpeipe w/ stock mids, mufflers than some bent pipes( turndowns). They come really close to some black bard crossing the back. I am wondering if they are hitting that when i punch it, or could it be some kind of mechanical failure??

I don't think there's anyone that can rule out a mechanical failure for a 'noise' over the internet. Maybe try skipping 2nd gear and flooring it (lovingly) in third to see if it's a consistent knock. That may help to rule out engine knocking. If it only knocks sporadically when you romp on it then I'd say that something is probably banging around down there and that it's most likely not an engine problem.
