I'm putting in a B&M shift kit in to my 88 GT tomorrow.. and I'm wondering if anybody who's done this has any advice or tips. I haven't done a shift kit in years, and it was on a Mopar.
i was going to get a machanic to put a shift kit in a crown vic i used to have and he told my that he would have to take the tranny out so i didnt get it done.

For a shift kit??? No. You need to drop the valve body, take some check balls out, drill a couple holes... replace a couple springs and crap... and you're done. Never heard of a shift kit requiring tranny removal.

the dude told me that he would have to drop the tranny because he couldn't do it unless the tranny was upside-down
