i got a Professional Products upper and lower intake for dirt cheap locally but dont like the finish. its current satin.

i have a stock, fox polished upper intake on my car right now and it looks sick so i dont want to downgrade the engine bay and leave it satin or paint it.

i hate the up-keep on polished aluminum like water spots because of my ram air hood no matter which way i wash it so i'm thinking of getting it chromed. i've seen a few people who have done this and it look awesome.

i will use a 1inch or .500 intake spacer to keep the heat down.

any opinions? or even pics?

I wouldn't see much difference in having it polished than chrome. you are still going to have to clean it for water spots. also wouldn't the wax you use for chrome just burn off? Plus, if you have it chromed, I'd be afraid of the chrome peeling off if you nicked it or have some blueing from heat. polished on stuff like that seems to be the way to go IMO.

this is not my combo anymore.... but you can see what a chrome powdercoat looks like.........it was no maitenance..... currently having my edelbrock done the same way..... its paint and looks nice... i though... the PS pulley is the same paint...

not very good pics and show the dirty engine bay but you get the idea.......

Chrome holding heat

I've read over and over and over that chrome is a terrible thing to put on intakes/valve covers/oil pans/ headers and so on, because they don't dissipate heat very much at all. I strongly agree with the gentlemen above and am surprised that nobody jumped in sooner with that conclusion.
