anybody running Vic Jrs. on a C90E shortblock

I am rebuilding a 351w (C90E), I plan on using my Victor Jr heads with 2.05 intake valves. Wondering if the PTV clearance will be a problem. I'd like to reuse the stock pistons for now.......don't really want to spend the money on new ones now, seeing as how it doesnt need bored and it was an original 4V motor (so it has 10.7to1 comp. with 60cc chamber). Anybody using this combination?
 
I don't have any issues but my pistons are aftermarket. The Victor Jr.'s are the way to go, best bang for the buck IMO. Will give you tons of room to grow. I don't know what it would work out like on the factory pistons. I recommend replacing those pistons anyway though, they are very old cast pistons, it is better practice to replace them.

You think I might run into problems running the stockers, even if they clear the valves? In the future I plan to buy a stroker kit for this motor, but for now I just want to get it running for this summer. The initial cost of switching to the windsor, switching to carb setup, fuel system, cage, and trans is pretty much draining me at this point. I'd hate to buy pistons now, then next winter have to buy pistons again as part of the stroker kit. Do the stock cast pistons loose structural integrity over time? I thought I would just use them for now, maybe tune it a little more fat than it needs to be.....i dunno....maybe your right
 
They may work okay, you just need to take them out and examine them. It is just better practice to switch them while you are at. No way to tell if you will have clearance issues or not, you need to take it apart and clay up the pistons and measure. You need atleast .1" of clearance.
