Anybody use a turbo off a diesel on their stang? Will it work?

I got a free Holset Turbo off a Cummins Dodge diesel engine. Intake piping, all clamps, braided oil line, wastegate and all.(no endplay or anything too) Besides of the fact there has to be custom flanges, piping etc. Could this turbo be good on a stang? Its a Holset WH1C turbo if anybody knows what that is. My friend said u cant use a diesel turbo because it has different compressor maps and impeller design...But ive seen stangs and many other gas engines running around with Powerstroke, Cummins diesel turbos and such. The turbos just sitting on my table and i look at it everytime i go in my living room, I dont know if I should sell it on Ebay or something or keep it for a project . I know whats involved in doing a turbo setup and im not saying im even going boost or anything, But just want to see if anyone has run a Diesel turbo on their stang or some other type of car, or what I should do with it at least? Thanks guys

Theres a site dedicated to strictly turbo mustangs, youd definitely wanna go check them out because from what I hear theyre the authority on turbos in our rides. If it can be done someone there has probably done it and could tell you whats involved. I cant think of the addy off the top of my head but keep bumping this post and Im sure someone will know it.

For what it's worth,that turbocharger appears to be installed on early-mid 90's Dodge 5.9 liter Diesels(359 ci). They are rated @ 160hp & 400 ft-lbs. That 400 ft-lbs rated at 1500rpms leads me to believe that the turbo is spooling really quickly down low and probably doesn't provide much power up top on that 359 ci engine. It may be "ok" for a 302(a stockish 302 would likely suit it better than your 306) depending on what type of powerband you're looking for(it would probably make power pretty similar to how that truck does in terms of making a lot of torque at a relatively low rpm, but after that, it would probably feel like the car is lacking power "up top." I'm sure someone over at the turbomustangs site or elsewhere has all the info on that turbo you would need to determine what it would be like on your engine.

from what i understand if your doing a junkyard turbo setup on your stang the turbos to get are off the powerstrokes so ya a turbo from a diesel will work u just wanna make sure its big enough.
