anybody wire an illuminated switch to replace the spout connector

i've been hiding all my wires in my engine bay and i want to add an illuminated switch to replace the spout connector. i dont want to have to get into the fender everytime i want to change my timing.

has anybody done this?

the switch i got has 3 terminals. power, acc, and ground.

i'm no electrical genious. can i make this work?

I dont know that I'd use a lighted switch, but using the switch (without the lighted element) certainly works fine.

If you use the switch you are going to need to run another 2 wires. One ground and one power.... Unless the wire is already grounded at one end then just run a however many volt wire to the LED. I Would just use a regular switch with one side labeled on and the other off.... Makes it so much easier.

i wouldn't mess with an iluminated switch. i tried putting one in for my manual fan. yeah i got it to work, but it does the opposite; lights when its off, doesn't when its on.

I used an aircraft switch for the fan. No light to wire up, and it's pretty east to tell when it's on as the aircraft cover is up.

Everyyone thinks it's my NAWS switch, but I tell them it's my turbo. Flip it on and they can hear the fan kick on high.

thanks for the help guys.

heres a pic of the switch i wanted to use. looks sweet there.

i might just use it without the led to turn on and then figure out a way later.
