Anyone’s GT leak in the rain???

It poured here in Miami for two hours. When I got into the car it smelled really bad and was wet on the drivers floor board near the lower left corner of the floor mat. Anyone else have this problem???

make sure the windows are rolled up all the way. sometimes they need to be recalibrated. when you open the door, the window drops a little. if the window is out of whack, it will not go up all the way when you close the door.

they leak - I had the same problem - the cowl and a fire wall weld were not sealed. On top of that the rear passenger window also leaked. Get a leak specialist in at your dealer.
insist on new carpet - its beginning to rot - you just happen to notice it this time. I had my carpet replaced under warranty.

I also live in Tampa and it also pours rain, but I cover my car all the time when its at home. I wash it frequently, but so far no leaks to report.

I had the same thing on my passenger side. I took it to the dealer and they fixed the cowl problem under warranty.

My trunk is a swimming pool
I got water near the fuel pump relays in trunk
lot of moisture coming up to rear window
a big mess

still not able to find where it comes in , but it seems worse when moving under heavy rain : I read all f***ing threads and tsb here and on bradbarnett on leak matter but found no advice on mine .

As soon as it rains again I have to check it better ... once again

Luckyly Italy has often good weather , at least

Here for 8 months out of the year our rain is solid not liquid so leaks don't seem to be a problem - having our cars perpetually parked in the garage is a problem though! grrrr! This f'ing winter thing is really starting to piss me off!

Yeah Rear window leaked bout 3 days after I picked it up from the Dealer they removed and resealed rear quarters and rear window have not had a problem since.

I may have a solution to your problem.

Water was getting into my Stang's trunk, even after the dealer resealed a leaking rear window. It was filling a trough in the bottom of the driver's side rear quarter panel behind the interior trunk cover. After the water filled up that area it spilled over, and flowed under the trunk carpet into the spare tire well. I also noticed that dirt and grit was laying in the bottom of the water in both areas, which told me that it was splashing up into the trunk from underneath the car when it was moving on wet roads.
I dried out both wet areas, cleaned out the drit and grit, jacked up the rear driver's side of the car, removed the wheel, sprayed the entire wheel area with high pressure water from a hose, and checked the trunk for water. None. I then sprayed behind the wheel area along the underside of the quarter panel, and water appeared in the quarter panel trough inside the trunk.
The source of the leak turned out to be a poorly sealed area on the underside of the quarter panel where the gas fill tube passed through it. I resealed this area with duct seal, dried out the quarter panel trough inside the trunk, and resprayed. No water showed up in the trough, and it and the spare tire well have both remained bone dry since then.

Yep, mine leaked as well. Passenger side foot well had about 3/4" of standing water in it. The dealer fixed the leaks and replaced the carpet under warranty. Apparently it is a fairly common problem for leaks in the cowl and windshield area.

Mine leaks as well.............only with really hard and big rain volume. I dunno if being a vert makes a difference, but mine is on the pass. side...........seems like water comes from in behind the glove box and pools there. Once I get going, the inertia from going forward and turning left 2 right makes it just pi$$ out. My 06' still has warranty, so I'm gunna check out the TSB! BUT, my dealings with the dealer about TSB's aren't good (my 01 G Cherokee has tones of em)............they generally just laugh em off..........................pi$$es me off, finally get a newer car, ***** still happens. I wish I would have kept my old car sometimes

My '06 hardtop did the same thing. After a 12 hour soaking rain, I got into the car, pulled forward and it all sloshed out onto passenger side floor from the SJB (Smart Junction Box) area.

I pulled up the TSB, read it thoroughly, went down to the local Ford Dealer and purchased a tube of TA-2 Seam Sealer. I removed the windshield wiper arms and cowl cover. I then found that the cowl pinch weld had sealer skips along the front (I resealed those) and that also the foam gaskets underneath the cowl grommets were also leaking as evidenced by dirt underneath them (they compress with time and stop sealing). So I removed all 10 of the cowl grommets and took the foam gaskets off. I then put TA-2 sealer around the grommet holes in the cowl, and then pushed all the grommets back in, effectively bedding them in seam sealer. No leaks to report a this time!

Wow ! thanks for the advice !!
Mine seems to leak on the passenger side , when I drive in heavy rain .
When the car is sitting under same heavy rain I have no leaks , so it must be linked to movement/tyres etc : I'll inspect the tyrewells and grommets .
