anyone cut their coils??

i have a 02 gt and i am wanting to lower it a little bit. has anyone cut the coils on their mustang and if so how many and do you have any pics???
I was thinking of cuttin 1 full coil off the front and 3/4 in the rear, if i did this how much of a drop woul i accomplish?please help, thanks.

I dont think you should cut them because of the performance factor of the car. I would order springs for a few hundred dollars. But if you do cut them I think it would be safer to cut them in Quarter increments to make sure it doesn't drop to low

I was a cheapass and had mine cut. i think they did 1 coil in the front and 3/4 in the back, but yea it lowered like 1 1/4 inch. i would suggest buying springs though just to get the full performance effect and with cut springs my ride is pretty damn rough.

cutting springs is bad. springs are cheap, no need to waste your time on half-assing the job.

After ordering a set of springs and not being satisfied with the results. I decided to cut mine and they worked out well. The front are easy just cut one coil of of bottom. The rear cut around 3/4 coil of top and heat and reshape top coil to resemble original. If you don't like it you can always order a set. Ride will be stiffer but that's not all bad. Corners great.

I cut my factory springs 1 1/4 coil off the front and and 1 1/2 coil off back and my car sits perfect , no fenderwell gap and it lowerd it about 1 3/4 inches all around, a lil rougher ride but thats too be expected.

After my Intrax 2" lowering spring and energy suspension isolators install on my 98 gt, I just wasn't satisfied with the height of the car. Many recomended taking the isolators out but I wasn't about to do that. Eventhough everyone was against cutting the springs, I went ahead and did it anyways. The rear sat perfect but the front still had another inch to go so I cut half a coil off on both front springs and it sits perfect right now! NO fender gap, no stiffer and the car handles great! Looks killer too and I get compliments everywhere I go.
