anyone elses gas mileage go down after installing off road pipe

my gas mileage has gone down about 2-3mpg since i put on my prochamber, i dont have mils yet and the cel is on, anyone else have this problem

yep thats about right.

If you improve the air flow out of the engine it will also want to suck more air in, thus it will also burn more fuel.

Also if there is an increase in sound and throttle response (which there should be) you are much more liekly to drive that bit harder, which will of course drop the the mpg.


If you want performance don't worry economy. If you want economy don't worry about performance. They do not go hand in hand!

no. I still get 20-26mpg depending on driving.

26 all freeway 22 mix and 20 around town

I know that everyone is talking about o/r pipes, but after i got my bassani catted x put on i went from 200 miles on a tank to about 230-250. Definitely wasn't expecting that.

Gettin right at 20mpg in mixed driving with my mods. Only one that I lost on was the gear at -1 mpg. Mine went up from about 18.

exhaust modification usually make your engine run a little more rich.

Mine has increased as well.

I do think they CEL does screws with the A/F because every now and then when I start the car and first take off it kind of sputters a bit.

I get about 22-23ish.

i honestly don't go to WOT. I hardly go to WOT. though most of my driving is city, so i think my numbers are unfortunately accurate.
