I'm running some sort of Kumho Ecstas...

And the only time they EVER Make a noise while spinning is when I chirp second.

It wouldn't matter if I power braked for 10 seconds or got sideways leaving a parking lot, they're completely silent.

Why?

I think it is the compound makeup of the tire, maybe. I have the Kuhmo Ecsta 712's and mine don't really squeel even when I try to make them. I think they are a harder rubber.

Mine on my cougar didn't squeal until they were really worn. Then I slide sideways in a turn and they really squealed. Otherwise they would have more of a bass tone to them if they were ever over driven.

Actually, I had great performance out of them for a while. Mileage? I only got about 20,000 out of them.

I don't think they are a bad handling tire at all. They handle great in the rain and during cornering. Of course they aren't a drag radial, but they haven't failed me yet.
