Has anyone ever sold a car to Carmax? I'm thinking of getting rid of my GT so I can focus on my fox instead. Just curious if anyone has dealt with them, and if so how was the experience?

Wow, I thought I was going to get horror stories.

The only thing I'm worried about is that, I still have a loan on the car. I am guessing I'll come away with a loan for the difference of what They give me and what I owe.

I bought my Fusion from them and it was a really good experience... Can't say anything for selling, though.

If they wont give you what you owe you have to pay the difference. The bank owns the car not you. Unless carmaxx will pay them off you cant sell it to them.

Yeah, That's what I figured. I am going to see if I can get Carmax to pay off the car, and try to get a personal loan through my bank for the difference. Which I hope is not much .

You might be better off selling it locally if tats the case. How much do you owe on it.

More than it's worth, in my eyes .

I wish I would have just put the money into my LX, but no, I needed to get a decent daily driver .

they are a nice company i would buy from them rather than a crooked dealer at least they stand by there cars, they just seemed to low ball. maybe my friends car which at the time was a brand new 07 honda had a 19000 msrp and they offered 13k with only 12000 miles so i thought htat was unfair

I'd hate to see what they'd give me for a 2001 GT from new england with 96,000 miles out here in California.
