Anyone ever try and dye leather seats.

I'm changing the interior in my vert from tan to black, and I'm going to buy two new racing seats for the front but was wondering if I could dye the rear seat black and make it look good and last. The seat is in perfect shape so I thought it would be easier to dye it if it would work rather than trying to find a black on in good shape. Thanks

Never done it myself but a guy I work with dose that kinda work regularily. If you use the proper vinyl dye and not just some cheap paint,the effect is good and will last. Just like bodywork,prep work for the material to be dyed is important. Cleaned a couple times,etc.
