www.vintage-mustang.com search the forums here for parts and drivetrain. You will easily be able to find a C4 for sale. That or check the classifieds here on stangnet. I see a few C4's on there occasionally. I have never heard of a C5 adapted to a stang but I'm sure anything is possible.

i dont know for sure, but i dont think it would hold up

as for finding a c4, any junkyard should have some, am i right?
if i get a t5 soon, ill sell you mine

honestly, why not go with a manual tranny?
or if you must have automatic, aod would be my first look

My 86 Mustang had a C-3 auto originally when it had the 4 cyl.C-4's shouldn't be too hard to find. The last time I was at my local wrecker there were a couple of cars from the 70's with one.Check the classifieds of your local Auto trader magazine, I see them all the time in ours for $50 and up or check out Car-part.com.You probably want something local as shipping will kill you. http://car-part.com/

I've got a C-5 from a V8 hangin in my shop, that's just there for decorative purposes. Needs a rebuild, tried it in my 89 V8 ranger.

Mines out of a 72 pick up. Its a heavy duty tranny but I had bell housing issues.I junked the housing and swapped a few till I found one that fit.
