I saw a kit for a Targa top in one of my mags, and started wondering if anyone out there has done it. I know I would definately need subframes, and such. Just wondering how complete the kit is, and of course the all important $$$. I'm sure it's probably something rediculous, like $2,500, but I think it would be killer.

Hey man you can get one for 12hundred bucks at mustangtuning.com I would buy one but it cannot be good for your car. on the website it tells you that you will need full length subs, but even then your still losing all of the top roof support. But your right the kit looks killer.

Nothing that a roll bar can't fix :D . After a rear seat delete of course. I'll check theirs out. Thanks.

edit: I just looked, and you can get the kit without the top for $550. Too bad my car is a daily driver.

So the piece that they supply as the top doesn't have the same line as the roof piece you cut out? That would suck. I'll have to try to dig up some pics with the roof on. Do you have any idea where I can find some of those? Thanks.

I believe i was on the v6 mustangs website. It follows the lines i guess...it just is really bulky. It just doesnt look good. :nonono:

here are a couple pics I snapped of a car with the targa top at the All Ford Nats in carlisle this summer.

I dig it too. They make hard plastic tops too, dont they? Is that just too price prohibitive (seems to me they are double or more)?

Someone with fabbing skills could probably make a T-bar brace for extra rigidity - I bet it would help a lot. The top would have to be modded accordingly though.
