That's probably because your stockers had yellowed bulbs and worn out wiring.

Here is what a HID setup is supposed to look like...

Notice the crisp cut-off line?

Compare that to a non-projected HID setup...

Notice the big light blotch on the ground directly infront of the car...along with the intense glare thrown out in all directions? A properly working stock setup will throw the light where it needs to be, unlike the picture above.

There is some interesting reading on the subject here... http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/bulbs/Hid/conversions/conversions.html

Millhouse - he says he has a retro fit kit but what he really did was modify his stock housing to hold an HID projector.. His cutoffs are just like in the pic u posted. I only know because he posted pix of his setup in an HID discussion i was in about a year ago

Lol, I'm not quite sure why he was arguing with me then. Ahh well, at least it's a good example for others.

Have you looked into 1 piece replacement projectors? I put them in my '92 GT and the light provided is incredible - far better than any I have seen. It also gives the car a more aggressive front end. I know some will disagree straying from stock parts but honestly how many have true stock cars anymore.

Sorry....this is for Fox Body's.
