just checked out the procharger website and read all about how "advanced" their superchargers are and the benefits of intercooling. Not that im on the verge of purchasing one, but are intercoolers really that essential on a street car or is it just advertising fluff? The idea seems legit, but there seems to be a good many ppl on here doing without the 'cooler. thoughts/comments?

I can't think of any instance where a non-intercooler setup is better than an intercooled one. The cooler the air charge is the denser it is as well as being less prone to detonation. Plumbing is difficult in our cars to fit an intercooler, but it can be done. I don't like the way the procharger's air inlet is setup.

it's not necessary but its a good idea. most of us use a vortech(which CANNOT fit an intercooler) cause it is easy to install and cheap. if i was going to do it over i would go with the procharger. the idea is you can get more boost/timing out of a intercooled setup so more power.

there is always methonal injection to take the place of an intercooler

I have one! I don't have a procharger, I have a Paxton VR-4. It wasn't a boughten kit, I have to make it, but it is way better than before.
