Anyone installed the redline hood lift kit on a 96-98 gt?

I just did and now the damn hood wont close !!!!!!!



Does anyone have any ideas of how to make this kit work, do I need to modify the inner fenders as I think that's where they are hitting the little brackets they supplied.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Ive emailed them but they have NO phone number....

Well iam not sure if too many people have done this yet, but i will say for some more help.. maybe you could post some pictures and we can all take a look.. alot of these guys custom fab all there own stuff and might be a better help if we can all see it.... Just my .02


Hope we can help out some more.. I know the frusteration when installing parts and they dont work..

I don't have the kit but I made my own using SS brackets and hood struts. I used the directions for the redline kits though.

Take some chalk or something similar and put it on top of the bracket, close the hood, lift it, see if the chalk is on the hood (hood hitting brackets). I guess if the bracket/ball part was too high then the strut itself would hit in the channel (up against hood), though I don't know how that would happen really.

Post some pics and it'll be obvious to me .. I had to guess at my dimensions because I used shorter struts, 'homemade' brackets, etc. So I know how big of a PITA it can be, trust me!

I've installed 3 sets of em without issue. Pics would help - are you sure the bracket is not on backwards? Dbl ck your alignment and measurements...

awesome customer service from Brian by the way...... very very helpful. I'd definitely buy more stuff from them but all my cars are equipped with struts now...
