I've got a '90 LX hatchback w/5.0L and AOD that is rebuildable, needs some front end work and the engine freshened up, along with almost all the parts to do the repairs and would be interested talking about a swap.

Would make a perfect donor for your 4-cyl swap. I'll give you a call later tonight.

so a guy signs up on this forum trying to get rid of a non mustang. he makes only one post and gives a phone number from a mysterious area code. weird.

ive actually always liked the look of those cars, but never really inquired about them. are they fast or just look like it?

Damn, I wish I had some thing to trade. That would make a great race car.
I have a almost done 89 LX I would be willing to sell for $8,000. Do you have pictures of the car?

nice way to treat a new stangnet member.

have you heard of cell phone numbers jackass, and a merkur is a hell of alot closer to a ford than a SRT-4. this person has had 3 mustangs and is building his 4rth i told him to join stangnet to try and get rid of it. next time keep your mouth shut unless you have something constuctive to say.
as for the car i can vouch for it being a good project/driver and i personaly helped rebuild the motor in our spare time here at Damerow ford.

The merkur is the 2.3L that was in the SVO stangs. It doesn't come with an intercooler and I think stock is around 170-190hp(?). There are plenty of them running around europe with well over 400hp. From the owners I've known, they all love the car. I know the land speed record for a 4cyl was once held by one of these. They need about as much modding as a stang of the same year, but parts are getting to be hard to find for these. I know there is also one for sale in Newberg with similar mods for like 2k (parked on the street).
Also, "971" is the same as the "503" area code. They ran out of numbers so all new phone numbers in the area will be "971". It is not long distance and is for all billing purposes, the same as "503".

there a local guy here in Toledo ,ohio that buys up some 2.3 motor etc.

he's got one in his 87 Ford Ranger.. He's running easy low 14's..
Can't get it to hook-up very well.

Keeping up with the 5.0 on street.

It's a pretty sweet set up... I want one now..

dude, just chill. i was just bringing that up as a concern for local people. i did not flame him or anything else which is what you did to me. by the way, i joined this forum as a car enthusiast and not a ford wannabe. and also, refer to your own post for an example of something non constructive.

ah, got it. i think the looks of those cars was way ahead of its time. not many mid 80s models that i sill accept based on looks. thanks for bringing me up to speed with the new area code.

p.s. matman is your motor built by bliss like the circle track mike bliss, if so that has to be one bad 331
