Well they were the cheapest tires the town i work for would put on my work truck.....and now it drives so rough i could run over a dime and tell you if its heads or tails .......maybe the ones for cars are better. Good luck......go with some nice BFG's if i were to make a recommendation. - Mario

Still on the fence, eh? I keep telling you my Ventus are just fine for my daily driver. Z rated for $104/tire.

They are an OEM supplier for some of the Korean cars. I think Kia uses them and the now-defunct Daewoo used them. I have read positive reviews on the Ventus tires. For the price, they can't be that bad.

Spend the extra money and get the Yokohama AVS ES 100's.. I had them on my stock rims before i got 18's and they were great. Look awesome too.. they have the illusion of looking pretty wide.

Hankook Tires

Hankook has several UHP tires and each one is designed for a different purpose. H405 is H rated tire and has a 400 treadwear. If you wish to have a superior grip you might like o check out Ventus Z212 tires. They have a treadwear in the 200`s but they are much more expensive han Ventus 405`s.
I beleive you also posted a question regarding Aurora Tires. This is a second Brand Hankook produces, just as Michelin produces BF Goodrich.
The difference from one another is technology. Hankook is the premium brand and has much more technology developement into it.
405`s are pretty good and they look cool. That is what they were designed for. How ever if you need to speed up you will need Z rated and you will find that in Z212`s, K104`s and new design K110`s.

Commercial Name for Z212 is RS-2. Check this link on drifting news.

Come on...they're actually drifting a P-P-Porsche? Hankook tests tires for its new drift team; and yes, there's a rear-heavy Porsche in the stable.(Special Report) | Article from Tire Business | HighBeam Research

There is a German company called Hamman Motors, they make tunning on Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Aston Martins. They had a contract with Hankook in order to use Hankook tires in their tunning jobs on these cars.
Hankook also makes other brand intended for Chinese Market which is Kingtyre, this is Light Truck Radial and Passenger Car Radial oriented, very cheap tire too.

This link will take you to an rticle where autobild, a german magazine tested 10 UHP tires and grades Hankook as Very Recommendable along with Goodyear Eagle F1. The difference is the price.

Hope this information is of interest.
