i've heard stock heads can handle .500" but im not sure if thats true. ive got some 1.7 rockers on the stock heads but im tired of the crappy stock cam, im looking to put on an e or B 303 until i rebuild the motor but im afraid this will be too much lift with the rockers on for the stock heads.

does anyone know?? if so any recommendations

I ran a crane 2030 which is really close to the e cam with no problems...1.6 rockers though. Make sure you use the rockers that the cam calls for. RPM's with stock springs are what you have to look out for...as mentioned above .500" lift on old stock springs are not going to last for ever. my brother in law got the trickflow spring and rocker upgrade with stock springs and it worked great...just some possibilities.

Not every time but sometimes, you'll have guide probs with a good bit of lift on the E7's.

I've seen peeps with high milage motors post about going to a 1.7 rr and shortly after the upgrade, the guides started to pass oil.
