Anyone know how Pro M meters are calibrated??

Do Pro M meter's calibrate just the electronics, or do they use the sampling tube method like C&L or a combination of both? I know C&L meters use the stock electronics with appropriate sampling tube, and the Pro M have all the calibration numbers on the electronics.


My question is;

Say you have a 4" universal Pro M meter calibrated for 60# injectors and a 75mm bullet calibrated for 42's. Both are calibrated for supercharged draw through applications. Can the electronics be swapped from one to the other and function properly?

I have one sitting in a box, and it looks like they make/program their own electronics and use a standard tube size.

...answer to your query...if you're planning on doing something like that, get a tuning device (PMS, TWEECER, etc) to play with your voltages inside the computer-but I don't really know much about them other than you can calibrate the computer to whatever kind of parts you have; e.g., injector size, duty cycles, MAF voltage, TPS voltage...ad nauseam.

I use C&Ls so I am not 100% on this, but I don't think you can mix the electronics with Pro-M meters.

Tuning with the TwEECer is cool because you can enter what the real maf tranfer is (the maf transfer tells the computer how to read the voltage from the maf. It can be expressed as a graph of voltage vs airflow), then tell the computer the true specs of the injectors. No more needing to calibrate meters to injectors, which is not very accurate.

Pro-M used to sandblast MAF resistors while on a flowbench until specific readings were attained. The new company that took over their stuff supposedly uses lasers to trim the resistors these days. Adjusting the resistors at different flow points adjusts the voltage going back to the EEC - that's basically how it works.

You can't swap the sensors. It may work with similar size meters, but the odds are agaisnt you. And for sure won't work with different size meters.
They are flowed with the housing and the sensor all a once, any variation in the housing will cause it to be screwed up.

Only costs $100 for recal, you may just want to do that.
