Anyone know of any at home tweaks??

ok, why is it that the idle hose HAS to be connected to the main intake pipe, I took it off and tried putting a mini filter/breather but my car wouldnt run, well it did for like 2 seconds then it turned off, and i connected it back to the main intake pipe and the car ran fine, I cant figure it out why it does that, also when i had the little breather on, my car got louder, the exhaust sounded alot louder, is there anything i can to for that??

I tried that mod last night, but i put a cap on mine and had the same results as you. Here is a good link with more info on this:http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=451080&highlight=rpm+hang

You don't cap it off completely.... It's a pipe cap with a hole drilled in it, like 5/16 or something, I forgot. You install it in the hose then put the hose back on. This restricts the air that the IAC valve lets in when you let off the throttle therefore bringing the RPMs down quicker.

The MAF meausres the air and tells the computer this so it can adjust accordingly. If you put a breather on the IAC hose opening in the intake tube you are letting a large amount of UNmetered air into the IAC and before the throttle body. THe car will not run like this. The IAC must recieve metered air. So no matter waht this hose must be connected to the IAC and intake tube, as well have some sort of passage way for air to travel through. . . . .

You can cut your springs,
you can cut your antenna,
you can paint anything,
stickerz cause they make you go fast,
just buy stuff off ebay, if it doesnt work, hey you didn't pay full price, now you can put it back on ebay and rip off some other sucker.... :p

The first 3 are all things that are viable, the last 2 were obviously in a joking manor... personally I wouldnt cut my springs, I have the cash to buy a fabricated setup (wich means guaranteed safety and quality to me, assuming you use a known company/brand)
