I am considering putting a set of the new billet specialties streetlite wheels on my notchback, If i do it, I want them to be black, i think it would look tuff as nails on my car.

I want something like the wheels on the F-bomb Camaro.

thats basically the exact finish i want, it looks like a powdercoating to me, anyone know any info on these wheels? Also, do you know any shops that powercoat? I thought about anodizing, but ive heard that that can fade after time and heat cycles

I have that Hot Rod magazine around somewhere that they cover the build of that car in. Its pretty sick. I imagine the wheels are powdercoated, but I can't say for sure. You can pretty much do ANY finish with powdercoating, whereas anodizing is like chemically staining the metal (changing the metal's chemical makeup at the surface), so the finish is pretty much always the same, regardless of color.

That said, I've heard that a special process has to be used to powdercoat wheels without weakening the aluminum, since powdercoating involves baking the wheels to temperatures close to the aluminum's annealing temp, but there seems to be some controversy around that.

i went on Frieburgers offical website and in a thread he said that they were anodized. I'm either getting those same wheels or the billet specialties street lites and see what anodizing is gonna cost
