I am looking for something to do, not much going on and i am bored.
I got some e7s off a 93 longblock just sitting, my mustang performance book has a guide to porting.

What all would i need, would it be too hard???
Post any expierences etc...

So pretty much i just take a grinder and gasket match and open up the holes a bit and polish the combustion chamber etc etc??

They are just old heads sitting and pretty much doing nothing so if i totally **** it up it wont be a big deal.

Think i should try it??

I was gonna do it on my TFS heads before I put them in, but after taking the valves out I decided it was too much work, and the ports are humongus compared to the factory stuff anyways... But in the case of your E7's might as well, practice makes perfect. At least grind out the awful bumps in the exhaust ports I hate those things

I hate say it,but porting E7 heads effectively takes a lot of skill and time,unfortunately.

I ported and cleaned up my lower intake a bit, not sure how much more involved the heads will be but I did it with a dremel, lots of attachments and tons of time. I'm pretty pleased with the results, I noticed an extra 2 or 300 revs in the powerband... prolly means I picked up 5 - 10 ponies... I used a gasket as a template and this little router attachment that came with the dremel...

I would like to add that I won't do it again, I'll pay to have someone else do it if thats what I really need, might want to think about that...

im in the process of porting some stock heads. definetly a PITA. ive got a dremel and well it does work it just takes a long time. definetly wear safety glasses if you attempt this, i got some metal in my eye and it hurt. im not doing a huge port job that thumper probably does. just gasket matching the intake and exhaust runners, cutting the egr bump down, smoothing everything out, and opening them up a little bit in the runners and the bowls.
