anyone rebuild a C4 or upgrade one? Help INSIDE!

I bought a video before I did mine. The company that makes them is Technical Videos I believe. JC Whitney used to have them in their catalogs also I believe. It's not complicated work. You just have to keep everything very organized since their are so many pieces. The video was like 30 dollars I believe and it was well worth it. You don't need any special tools to do a C4 either. They do talk in the video about using a special spring compressor to get the snap ring out of one of the drums. I just used a couple of C-clamps and it worked fine. I would definately do it myself and use the money you saved on labor for better hard parts.

As far as what mods to do I don't know a whole lot. I put in a mild converter, shift kit, and a deep sump alluminum pan in mine. Nothing fancy. You probably will need to do more with a high HP drag car. Good luck with it.

youl need a 164 tooth bell housing. if your doing long tubes you might want to get a 157 tooth flex plate that has the right balance and the corresponding bell housing. this gives you a little more room. if its an auto already then you already have a 164 tooth flexplate.
