I have a 96 GT that I want to add some Nitrous to this winter. The motor will most likely also get an overhaul (cams, pistons, P&P, etc), my question is whether or not anyone runs Nitrous with 4.30 gears or similar gears.
Is it an automatic or manual, and if you haven't already, do the PI swap before you do nitrous IMO.
If you already have 4.30's in a manual, that's too much IMHO. You'll run out of gear real quick in 1st and 2nd, and by 3rd when you can really do some spraying, whatever you're racing will have smoked you already.
Just my opinion, but I'm sure others will chime in.
I probably wont be spraying it a lot. The car was driven only a few times during the week and it will most likely be driven even less in the future. I dont want it to be a full drag car, but mostly a street car with some track duty.
Dunno, just depends on the tires really. Traction is the only issue, I am running nitrous and I plan on going with 4.10's only because its still a daily driver and I cant afford the gas with a gear steeper than 4.10. But I plan on runnin nitto DR's in the spring once the gear is in
im running nitrous with my 4.10's, and i cant spray in first or second because i have old street tires, but d/r's can help you there, but like someone said 4.30's might be a little to big.. im happy with mine,, i just go from like a 50 roll so i can get traction
