anyone running the crane hi6 ignition? pros / cons ?

I'de really like to throw the HI6-R ignition in this mix also. They seem very reasonably-priced for being CD style ignitions. Hopefully others will chime in on this one. All I can say for you though is don't get a no-name part for something so important in a vehicle - stick with the names you know: MSD, Crane, Mallory, ect.

I know some are more complicated than others. A lot of ignition setups want their distributors to me mated with their ignition control boxes - so I know what you are talking about. With regards to the cutting and splicing, Quite a few "direct hookup" harnesses are out there for a simply plug-n-go type of connection. From the research I have been trying to do personally I do know that crane has adapters for whatever type of stock ignition to aftermarket units are out there for about $20. MSD may have the same thing, but like the thread says, I am also more personally interested in the crane HI6 series however................

Just as a side note: Most people will tell you that on a N/A'd car, the stock ignition will work just fine. It's only when you start adding forced indcution that a box is required. Now, with the legal junk out of the way.... see my signature.
