oh man! i used to love that game!!! i used to play it in elementary, back when computers had less brains than my calculator does now! i bought it a couple years ago just for the memories.

We used to deliberately try to kill our wagon parties as quickly and miserably as possible, back in the day. We were sick children...

A couple of other big hits back then on the Apple II's we used were that Civil War general battle simulator, where you had to pick war strategies (flank, charge, retreat, etc.) and it would compare your results against historical statistics of kills/losses ... oh, and that other game, Karateka. That game was all kinds of awesome. Only problem was, I almost always got killed by that stupid friggin' gate that would drop down and impale me...

Holy buckets.... I spent HOURS back in the late 80's blastin' buffalo, deer, squirrels, and rabbits playing that game on the old Apple II GS's during grade school. Not sure how it qualified as and 'educational game' but it rocked Anyone remember that math game 'number munchers' from elementary school?

I think I remember that one. Wasn't that where you had to solve a bunch of math problems really fast before the PacMan-type guy ate all your stuff?

I just remembered, there was this other game that had to do with mining alien planets, getting these mineral thingies, and then taking them to these alien swap meets and trying to pimp them out. You'd shoot them a price, and they'd either scoff at it and refuse, or if you really gave it out cheap or something, they'd always come back with this:
"Fizzpa wizz?"
"Fizzpa wizz?"
"I'll take it!"
That game forever warped my brain. Whenever I'm haggling with someone that's selling a car to me, or I'm selling one to them, in the back of my mind I'm always expecting them to start saying, "Fizzpa wizz?" at some point.

And, of course, we can't forget Carmen San Diego. I dunno how many times we caught that elusive beetch, only to have to go hunt her down again.

When Chuck Norris plays Oregon Trail his family does not die from cholera or dysentery, but rather roundhouse kicks to the face. He also requires no wagon, since he carries the oxen, axels, and buffalo meat on his back. He always makes it to Oregon before you.
