Anyone use a Chiller in their shop air?

Would like to set up my garage ( shop) air lines to be able to run a paint gun for priming and maybe some paint/Clear....
Problem is living in florida, its just not the hot air the compressor produces but the actual humidity levels in the air itself. Found a couple of ideas online ..

Been looking at some of the ideas on youtube with the copper pipe in a bucket of ice but by the time I buy everything for a hundred bucks more I could buy the chiller that Harbor freight sells for $600......
What about wrapping an air hose through a cheap picnic cooler filled with ICE, instead of the expensive copper pipe in the bucket trick?
Anyone used a chiller or had any experience reducing humidity in their air supply in a high humidity area???

Ummmm, I think paint/primer used in an attached garage is not a good idea regardless of the temp/humidity

Meh- I used to paint motorcycles in my kitchen when I lived in a side by side Duplex-Neighbors never complained

Probably going to primer more than anything else... Lots of blocking on my new project.. Looks like the mustang will not be my last project..

Since I have not been kicked off the island yet and got a couple of thumbs up......... More of this story....
Been thinking about doing a C2 with a restomod frame for quite a while, just figured I would never want to cough up the money I do not have..... This car in the pic is not yet in my garage but hopefully will be in a month or so....
Quite an insane adventure nowadays wanting a C2 ( 1963 - 1967) corvette, not only for the cost but Corvette people seem a bit " strange" although I did meet some great people during this adventure, but that is another story... Didn't want a nice car or matching numbers car, not only due to the price, but because of the restomod frame..... I want the car to look stock, just with a more modern frame and suspension.....

Will be using one of these frames ( buying a bare frame) and I have purchased an 85 Corvette parts car for its suspension.. This frame is designed for a bolt on 84-87 C4 Corvette suspension and brakes... Buying the frame bare and finding a parts car very cheap will save me over $5K rather than buying the suspension included and installed from the frame supplier .
Hope to sell parts off the 85 to offset the cost of it to almost zero.

After reading some of the very bad reviews on the HF Air Dryer, probably not going that route and other brands are just too expensive for my garage adventure.... Back to looking at " air hose wrapped around inside a cooler, filled with ice " ( or dry ice) then going to some drain pipes on the wall....
I have had really good luck with cooling pipes crisscrossed or around the top of the walls and back to cool and get rid of moisture in a shop/garage compressed air supply, I just think the Florida humidity will require more for paint and/or primer.....

Never realized HF had these. I'm hoping to be able to get my garage built soon so I'll be wanting to get a bigger compressor and run hard lines at some point, so you got my interest piqued. Just the short amount of Google searches I've turned up about it shows pretty decent reviews. Have you seen this forum thread about it? One guy who asked "why buy one of those" has a picture of his setup. Just sharing in case you've not seen it yet....

I have seen some pretty decent " plastic tape offs" of a garage, or half of one also...

I am going to look at the 350 that comes out of the parts car ( the 85) and see what it looks like... Bonus with the parts car......

That 350 made about 230 HP 330 lbs/ft tq
Pretty good starting point if it's any good, heads, cam, simple HP.
OH..... Don't forget the blower.......and duel carbs
Or at least a tunnel ram...

Not much more HP but, I should of held out for an 86.. They had Aluminum heads....
You are correct, very low HP in the engine...

Seems like the 302 in my 83 was under 150 hp???
Perfect for this old man..
The 85 Vette engine must of developed some good torque.... Only rear end options were 2:59 and 3:07.....

Slightly off-topic but the 'Old School' engine that always amazed me was the 1968 Corvette 327. The thing put out like 360 HP waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day. Makes you wonder WTF everybody else after that was thinking about

I think that engine is called the L79... I think anyway.... VERY desirable option in today's market...
Friend had a 67 coupe with this engine in the mid 70's..... It ran well.....
