Anyone use a Ford Racing Damper on our cars?

According to Summit and other sources, it requires "some modifications" to get this to work on 94/95 cars. I noticed in previous threads that some people have to grind the water pump some to fit some aftermarket dampers but no one mentioned using the Ford Racing one specifically. I was wondering if anyone successfully put on a Ford Racing damper on our cars?

I have a practically new Ford Racing damper that is 50 oz balance that I had on my car before when I had a 93 style engine and now I'm putting back in a 94 engine. I would like to use this balancer on my 94 engine if I can since it would be much better than the stock crap.

Thanks!

yeah you have to grind the back part of the water pump there is like a tab there its just like a quarter inch that slightly hits the balancer I got the same one too and thats I did to get it to clear the balancer and it works fine

Thanks! I figured it would be simple but I didn't want to attempt it if it was going to be too much work.

Here is the link to the balancer I am talking about:

I tried the FRPP M-6316-C351 damper that said it would fit 94-01 Mustangs & Exploders. I had to grind quite a bit off the water pump. Once it was on the pulleys didn't line up, it was off by 11/16. Ford didn't have a spacer that would make them line up and no one could tell me what was required for modification. So, I ended up giving it away and getting a Romac balancer off of E-Bay. It fit perfect, looked good and cost a little less.

Yeah I like the Romacs, but I have got this one for free and it's practically new. Nice thing is that these don't rust nearly as fast as the Romacs do.

Didn't the C351 on the part number mean that it is for 351 engines? I didn't think that they made one specifically for 94-01 Mustangs and Explorers. The one I have (M-6316-A50) says it will work with them with "some modifications."

According to the FRPP catalog the A50 (50oz) HB is for the 81-93 302. Will fit the 94-01's with mods, I'll assume grind the water pump housing. The C531 will fit 302/351 HO (28oz) Will also fit 94-01 with mods... I needed the 28oz because of my stroker kit. I've had no problems with my Romac rusting, looks like it'a aluminum to me. Ford makes the stock replacement 50oz HD but it's the ugly black one. P/N M-6316-M50
