Anyone use Seafoam????

I have an 89 with about 138,000 on it. I have been told seafoam works pretty good at getting rid of excess carbon in the engine. I was wondering with me having high miles is it even worth it. My car runs great now and I can't afford to hurt it. From what I have found, this stuff is supposed to be great though. Any suggestions?

I use Amzoil's Power Foam which is the same thing, plus I run their PI injector cleaner every other tank. (the screens inside the inj's can build up varnish from the junk they put in gas and cause a bad spray pattern) Stuff works great at keeping inj's clean and the foam works great at keeping piston tops, TB, etc clean. I use the Power Foam every 5k miles. Well worth the $8 a can for each one.

Take care,
Scott

Thanks for the reply's guys. :nice: I think I am going to give it a try. I was looking at the vacuum diagram on one of TMOSS' sites and if I am looking at it correctly, do you think the hose all the way on the left closes to the engine would get to all the cylinders? If not, which one do you guys use? Thanks.

Scott, real good info. i will give it a shot as well, based on what you have said. where do you get both of the products? thanks for the info.

if you can dump it directly into the intake it works the best. after you run about 2/3 or the can through wot it and dump the rest in making sure you kill the engine. let it sit for 5 min then start. it will smoke like noting you've never seen before. be prepared for a few people stareing like your car is a piece of ****. lol

I get mine at www.amzoil.com even though my local speed shops sells most all amzoil products. I bought their *perferred customer* program so I get a better discount on everything as I also use their syn oil, filters, trans fluid & rear end fluid. it's cheaper this way and delivered right to my house cheaper than if I went to the shop to buy it.

When you use the powerfoam, get the motor up to normal temps, then just loosen up the hose at the TB and spray the entire can in. the motor will almost die, so you might have to tap the throttle linkage to keep it running. when can is empty, shut off motor for 20 min, then fire up and load the motor good in 2nd gear a few times to clean it all out. If you see alot of white smoke, then it was gummed up inside.

Stuff works great and completely safe for all sensors etc.
