Anyone using a CAI fenderwell kit/power pipe for a C&L 76mm or 80mm mass air?

If so, what brand CAI or power pipe u using? I hear that the C&L's don't work well if u put a 90 degree bend in front of em. I also hear that if u put the meter itself in the fenderwell, it causes low speed driveability problems. Any opinion's on this?

I had a C&L and a BBK cold air intake for 2 years. Never one problem. Idle and drove perfect. Now I have a AFM powerpipe and the car behaves the exact same way.....PERFECT.

Looks good. So if your worried about the C&L not working well with the MAF in the fender then get them to make you one like the powerpipe style but keeps the mass air in the compartment. I am sure they could do it. If not get the COOL AIR one and that will work for sure. Or you could get them to make a larger diameter pipe cold air kit that retained the stock MAF location.

Talk to them. They will fix you up I am sure. Tell them you want a large diameter pipe because of your 331 H/C/I combo.

same here.... mass & bbk cai... fine for me. had to adjust rich/lean but no biggy

The only problem I have had is the the pipe is too short, I had to get a 3" rubber extention at Home Depot to make it work, they should have made the pipe a little longer. I had the MAC CAI, but now have the Moroso. I'm thinking of going with the AFM Powerpipe next because my shop light burnt a hole in the Moroso, and duct tape looks cheezy, but you know what they say "If you can't duct it..."

I'm running a Moroso Fender Kit w/ c&l's 73mm Meter & Truflow Tube and it's working out fine. BUT, I did have problems with my 76mm C&l meter (I bought it along with the True Flow Tube). Car ran lean no matter what I did. When I was having this problem someone mentioned that the bend might be causing it. Since I still had my old 73 laying around I put it in to see what would happen. Lean condition cleared up so I left it at that.

Did you turn up the fuel pressure. I did and my lean condition went away. You are stuffing more air into the motor.....so of course it is going to lean out a little.

That's when I realized I had a problem. I'm embarassed to say how high I had the fuel pressure dialed up.
