Anyone using M&H 275/50R17 Drag Radial?

1.8's on stock BFG's is not normal. That's very very good. You are launching perfectly, and would probably see 1.6 or 1.7 with stickies. Most likely your track prep is dead on also. Most people average 1.9-2.2 on stock rubber. I've only heard of a handfull or so S197 owners cutting 1.8's with stock tires. But I agree. 1.9 is a bit high with drag radials. Keep in mind, he's completely stock. No gear mods, not suspension mods, and obviously not a veteran. 2.1 is the most I've been able to muster out of my stock rubber.

Oh dont be fooled by the numbers, its taken me MANY weeks of tire pressure variation and clutch slipping to get there. I found a small burnout with about 16 psi is what i need with my stock(tune only)287hp/307tq WITHOUT gears/bolt ons is about the best i can get it.

I have used the M&H DR's on the street for about a month before I switched them out for the 305/45/18 Nitto 555R's. The Racemasters are off now and will be saved for track duty come spring. I will tell you they are best gripping tires I have ever used! Can't wait to get them to hook with the Kenne Bell.
