Anyone using MSD Blaster2 coil with Pertronix ignition?

Yes, you will need to use the ballast resister. The ballest resister lowers the voltage going to the coil so that it doesnt fry. Some coils are designed to not need a ballast resister...and others do, if it came with a resister then you need to use it.

I'm pretty sure the lower voltage was to protect the points, not the coil. Before I bent my pushrods and had to pull the engine, I was running the Pertronix Ignitor II in the stock dizzy and the matching Flamethrower coil. Worked great. I ran a full 12V to the coil and Pertronix ignition.
