I never used the UPR C/C plates.
I had Steeda C/C plates on my 92 GT and they
worked really well.

those are the exact plates i have. if you choose to get those, dont pay $179. i got mine new off ebay from a company ( forgot name ) for $100.

my setup consists of:

eibach sportlines
upr "shark" steel c/c plates
04 gt take-off shocks and struts
es isolators

i have had this setup for about 2 months or so and i like it. yes, it does make noise when hitting good size bumps but its tolerable. im sure had i went with some tokicos or kybs and some MM c/c plates, it would be somewhat better. when i took it to the alignment shop, it lined up well and the driveability is good.

if you can get the plates for around $100, they are worth it.

mine does the same thing and i wasnt 100% sure why. i guess it is the cc plates doing it. like i said, im sure they arent the best but mine ride perfect until a noticeable bump

best way to describe it i guess is "loose feeling"

$40....you done good

I just had some steeda plates installed and since the install there has been a squeaking noise coming from the driver's side whenever I go over bumps. I already checked the ball joints and everything that is located behind the wheel. I can only assume it's the plates. Should I pull the strut out and check to make sure they put the plates on properly? Anybody else hear squeaks instead of the "clunk" noise that everybody talks about?

I never had one sound coming from my Steeda C/C plates after
the install. It is possible their may would been a error in the install.
Old struts and shocks that need to be replaced can make that sound.

I guess I should have mentioned that I had brand new Koni Sport shocks and struts installed at the same time. Last week I just sprayed WD-40 pretty liberally up into the strut tower and the noise went away for a few days, coincidence probably but worth mentioning anyway.

ya know, mine is getting worse seems like. i drove on a really bumpy road this morning and it sounded like the front end was falling out....clunk clunk thud thud. just had a 'loose' sound to it. smooth roads, its fine...even when cornering.

should i worry about this or is this just the nature of the upr cc plates? is it something else?

resolutions other than buying new plates??

I can not 100% confirm it was the CC plates, but my setup made the same "clunk"

UPR K, tubular arms, coil overs
Lakewood 90/10's
UPR 3 bolt "shark" aluminium CC plates

I installed everything correct, had all the fasteners tight and thought it was all solid, but the plates seem to be the reason for the "clunking" noises.. especially when it was cold out.

My 01 GT does make a similar "clunk" but I have yet to track that down..It has stock CC plates and only an AJE K member and lowering springs.

IMO, it is best to leave the stock parts on, or replace with stock items, to avoid these problems
