ANYONE WITH AN A/F ratio guage come in

I am trying to put an autometer a/f ratio gauge in my car but i am not having any luck with it. I tried splicing into the wire at the o2 sensor, but got no luck. Also, i tried tapping into it at the ECU. I looked online and got directions as the autometer ones were generic. Heres what it says

"There are two options for this hookup as well, again it's the left or right sensors. Locate the PCM, which is above or behind the passenger side kick panel. Look for the 104-pin connector. For the left sensor you will go to pin 87 which is a red wire with a black stripe. For the right sensor you will go to pin 60 which is a gray wire with a light blue stripe."

I tried it on pin 87, but got no luck. What am i doing wrong? Any imput would be helpful. Thank you. The car is a 2003 GT.

I thought you needed like a wideband to be able to see instantaneous A/F ratios

sell that ricer sensor and get a wideband.

Weird,it should work.Did you give the gauge a good ground?
Did you for sure hook up into the right wire ("87" red/black stripe) ?
If so,i would double check the ground,If you don't get a proper ground,no gauge would work right.Grounding issues are usually the cause from what i've seen helping friends out with there gauges.I grounded mine out at the stereo/dash support with a bolt that was already in the location i used.But i installed my A/F gauge in the shifter bezel beside the lighter,that is why i grounded it there.
If that isn't the issue,then i'm not sure.

Narrow band set ups are good for nothing but show. You need a true Wide Band kit to "accurately" monitor your A/F ratio. You might as well hang a digital watch from your rear view mirror....you'd get more realistic results. I'd suggest the Innovate Motorsporst LC-1 kit if you're trying to do it on a budget.

It's inexpensive (as far as Wide Band kits go) and dead on balls accurate. I bought one for my set up, but I have yet to install it.

Here was mine:

The AutoMeter A/F ratio gauge is intended only for narrow-band sensors (0-1.5V output). The AutoMeter A/F ratio gauge is little more than a psychadelic light show, and doesn't represent any realistic a/f ratios because of the way the PCM/EEC controls the fuel trims in closed loop. If you really want to monitor the a/f with gauge, you need to look into a wide band setup.

A wide-band has a 0-5V output range, although many wideband controllers allow you to emulate the narrow-band signal, so you could connect it. Most wide bands are complete kits that include a sensor, a controller to heat and calibrate the sensor, and a digital readout. For example, the Innovate LM1 is a portable unit, with an integral LCD readout of A/F ratio. But they also make the LC1, which is a fixed mount controller that drives a separate dash mountable analog or digital gauge. Altronics makes a dual channel controller, with audible alarms. There are a bunch of wide-band alternatives available.

fisrt off, yes i did ask it again. Neither in your initial post or this one did you answer the question that i asked,
and secondly, i did figure everything out, so it is working.

Glad you got it figured out, but your question was already answered in the other thread. Making multiple threads to ask one question can get confusing and will usually keep you from getting the help you deserve...that's all.

It still doesn't change the fact that taking your readings from the stock narrow band O2 sensors will keep you on target about as accurately as a scud missile. As already stated by Kevin and myself, without a true Wide Band sensor and set up, those readings are nothing more than an expensive set of blinking lights on your dash. Are you just the type that doesn't care how accurate you guages are as long as you've got a lot of them to talk about? Not trying to be insulting, I'm asking a legit question. Is this more of a bling thing, than a functionality thing?

I installed it, and wrote a write up.

i bought it too fill a hole in my pod. serisoulsy its just a blinking light show.

If your gonna do it do it right. Light show gauges are for honda's.

Or go old school style with a dashpod...(you'll never see setup this in a ricer)
