Well, we've covered a lot of ground - the ride differences between a Corvette and a Cadillac cover a lot of ground. And as you've alluded to there are HUGE fundamental differences between Corvette and the Mustang -- not the least of which is a chassis body structure on the Corvette that makes the old Stang look like a limp noodle by comparison, and 4 wheel independant suspension with parallel upper/lower A-arms at all 4 corners, less unsprung weight in the rear, etc. A simple change of shocks won't begin to make up for that - but, the fact remains. A quality set of shocks will make a big difference. If you want to give yourself the best shot a nice balance of harshness vs. control, just pick up the standard version of whatever shock you choose.
