Anyone with cams/stroker kits.....come in!

My car will be dynoed by the end of the month, ask then :D . Ideally you want the bore and stroke to be the same. That's square and perfect. Strokers in a 2V really are only a benefit under forced industion, hence the reason I went with it. I'll know better in a few weeks and I will for sure post dyno numbers and a dyno sheet. This will be with blower cams, a stroker with 3.582 bore, and a KB.

you could go with a 5.0 with comp cams XE270's and bigger valves....
My cuestion is wich company makes 3.7" pistons? for my brothers 2V engine because he thought of a 5.0 but he can try the big bore engine can anyone help me with this?

FR500 or Cobra R heads

FR500 heads are just about as good as the 03-04 DOHCs...but they cost ALOT more. He can get the fr500 cams though.

Cobra R is a 5.4 style, and would need to rig a custom intake up to work. Something like a SERIOULSY worked 01 cobra intake. And besides that there were only something like 300 Cobra R Heads cast, you cant find them.

Ford GT heads are simular to the Cobra Rs, and again would need a custom intake. On top of that they cost $1221 EACH!!!! And from what I understand thats with no cams. So thats about $2500, then your going to need the $1000 cams, and the $1500-2000+ intake manifold, custom Kooks 1 3/4 LT headers (probably over $1000), and you will need a $300 TB, and some sort of a CAI.

Mach 1 heads would be a much better option as they flow 26X CFM stock and should make 300CFM ported. Cheap to buy on EBAY or something. Then you can buy the FR500 intake (2500 I think  ) or a stock 01 cobra...or one of the aftermarket ones available for about $1000....or teh shaker with a P&P mach 1 intake manifold. Plenty of options, and should go tegethor pretty easy :nice: .

not a huge mechanic guy, can somone explain to me what this unshrouds the valves stuff is. the valves are in the heads, right? what does that have to do with a built bored block?

my next move is a block so if i can pick up some power before the blower goes on that is what i want to do. however i dont fully understand the bb and do not want anything that will be too complicated or cause problems.

stroker is def. not an option i dont like what i read about them over time and i do not recomend it for the original poster. if anything man consider the bb like i am.

yeah that's why most of the people who run 5.4 heads have a custom intake fabbed

I dunno.....i really wanna get some Vt Stage 2 cams and better valve springs, bullet intake, and maybe a 302 stroker kit.....my heads would also be ported and polished....i don't know why it would be a waste of time or money....

I would also get larger injectors and a decent tune.....

How could that possibly hurt me??? And then it would make it better in the future when i want to get a blower.....right?

:SNSign:

Well, at your point its really not I guess as you can gain about 50RWHP with all that. But for me, im already at almost 300.

I would spend $6500 on heads, BB shortblock, and bigger cams....and well I would MAYBE make 330-350RWHP :nonono: . Im not going to do that....ill spend about 14K for EVERYTHING with a 5.4 setup and make over 500RWHP.

Hi wich company makes 3.7" pistons? for a 2V engine because i thought of a 5.0 but i can try the big bore engine to see how it performs, can anyone help me with this?

Go 4V, that would be your best bet.

Get P&Pd mach 1 heads
Custom cams
BB 302
FR500 inatke
tune

= usually around 450RWHP N/A vs a max of around 330RWHP for the 2V. Im going 4V when I rebuild.

Hes right. a 2v motor isn't the best motor to do an "all motor" project. Its best to use a 4v for that. But i know where you're comin from, because my goal is 300rwhp with my N/A gt too lol and its going to be hard to reach :)

If youre serious about making more power, i would advise to stop modding ur GT, and save up and buy a crate motor, and start dumping money into that. Then when you hit 100k on ur GT, drop in the crate :nice:

good advice

+1 Good advice UDT, and thats exactly what im going to do lol. (well after I make it to 300 haha) But fortunatly for me, theres a small stipulation with making the 300....it must be with STOCK heads, so that will mean I wont be buying $2000 2V heads lol. Keeps me from going craze haha.

What about you? stock heads also or going to go a little more?

And yea 01 steeda and Adrenln, im not going to buy that...im now switching up a hair and thinking of doing a 324BB/strocker and slapping the GT 4V fully ported heads on there. We are talking 370+ CFM (P&P) vs 225CFM (P&P) for 2V heads....and stock GT heads are only doing 186 CFM on the intake. Thats why there is no power in the 2V N/A.

What about some FRPP 2V Ported heads/Ported Bullitt Intake/VT Stage 3 cams on a 324BB? That would be a sweet NA 2V setup. Those FRPP 2V heads ported are flowing like 280cfm...not bad for 2V...just another option :)

those 3V heads are expensive, you can only get them at the dealer or off a wrecked 06 explorer, 05-06 GT, or newer F series, then all the custom work to fit them wiring etc...

4V heads are cheaper

yeah but your still looking at 1000 for cams.. I think that would settle the difference wouldnt it. I guess it is really a moot point.. the 4V's do flow better so a small price difference would be justified. I guess i shouldnt have saud alot cheaper.
